February Round-Up
All The Things I Was Obsessed With This Month
February is a hard month for my family as it begins with my dads birthday and ends with my parents wedding anniversary, so I always try to keep it light and soft. I want to use this monthly space to document all the things I have been consistently enjoying. For transparency the art materials list does include affiliate links but I never include things I don’t actually love and use.
Let’s get into it.
WHAT I AM MAKING:
Besides the 100 day project I have been immersed in a secret project that I have wanted to start for over 2 years. The more I go through my old journals and notes the more I see the seeds I have planted for this project to grow and it has been exciting to go outside of my comfort zone. For this project I have been using a Midori A4 blank notebook and a Midori A5 blank notebook. In my opinion, nothing beats a Midori - the paper can take lots of mediums and they are inexpensive so I never feel too precious about using one when I have a project in mind.
I have also started my recycled castle/dollhouse project which I will share more of in an upcoming post.
I am trying to make this project without buying anything new. So far my only purchases have been some more plaster wrap and spackle because I used up everything I had. I will show you the final painted version of this soon. I love how it turned out and it was a great opportunity to use some of my long abandoned Jane Davenport gouache paints.
My other favorite supplies this month are:
JustArt Acrylic brush pens: I bought these on a whim and I am obsessed with them. They write beautifully, are opaque , don’t bleed through the paper and layer really well. I have been using them non stop in my Midori.
Black Calligraphy Brush Pens: I bought a cheap set of these and I have been obsessed with them. I love using the different nibs to create different size lettering in my journals. I have really grown to love having my handwriting in my journal even if it not beautiful and these pens really help with that.
WHAT I AM WATCHING:
I have been watching international vloggers for a couple of years now but have been really loving to watch Americans living in Korea as I gear up for a possible trip later this year. My favorite comfort vlogger right now is annyeongskya . She does a fun mix of reviews, hauls and day to day life and I love her attitude. I also love to watch Kiki Chanel when I am in the mood for a round up of the current social media drama without getting into a scroll hole.
WHAT I AM LISTENING TO:
EXO’s new album REVERXE came out at the end of January and that has of course been on repeat. So I leave you with the video of their title track CROWN
