This is a collab post with my other account, Empress Peach. Empress Peach focuses more on tarot, channeled messages, and general spirituality, including reality creation.
I have been keeping a written journal since I could write. Before that, I would dictate stories and tidbits to my mom, and she would fill spiral notebook after spiral notebook with them. My age and the date were written neatly at the top.
Writing has been my lifeline for my entire existence. My journals hold my memories, my sadness, and all my wishes. Because I come from a family of witches, I always knew the power of manifesting through images and words. It is evident in all my writing. In the last three years, I have used various writing techniques in my books to bring about what I want or need. When I read my journals back, every word becomes evidence of my power as I take note of all the things, big and small, that I have made come to pass.
Today I am going to share some easy ways to jump-start some epic mindset shifts using just some paper and a pen. Use these as prompts in your journal, or use a loose piece of paper to experiment with how doing exercises like these makes you feel. Keep them as evidence to check on a year from now.
THE PRODUCTIVITY LIST
When I was an assistant to an events producer in my early 20s, one of my daily tasks was to keep a running list of everything I had done that day and send it to her before I went home for the evening. If you are like me and your sense of worth is tied to how productive you are, then this exercise can help you break some of those patterns. If you aren’t, doing this simple writing exercise will bring to the forefront how you are spending your time and energy.
Get a piece of paper and keep a running list of EVERY SINGLE thing you do in a day. Don’t leave anything out.
Before you go to bed, look at your list. What is unexpected about it? What would you change? Did you do more than you thought you did?
When you spend time focusing on how you are expending your energy, you can consciously decide on what changes you want to make in the future, and this will actively assist in changing your reality.
THE GOOD STUFF
If you are looking for a journaling prompt to lift your spirits, especially on days that seem more difficult. Write down all the nice and happy things about your day. Even the smallest things can make the biggest difference in your perspective.
Examples:
My iced coffee tasted perfect today.
I started a new book that I am enjoying.
I listened to my favorite song.
Read this list back to yourself for a mental reset on the things that make you truly happy.
TALKING TO YOURSELF: THE QUESTION & ANSWER GAME
If you have followed me for a while, you know one of my favorite exercises to get out of my ego is automatic writing. I write a question I want to ask myself at the top of the page and, without a filter, answer everything that comes into my mind. This is stream of conciousness writing. I find that when I do this exercise, my writing changes automatically from “I need to…” to “ YOU need to”
This is a lesson in giving yourself instructions from a higher place. When I am in a rut or negative headspace, this is my go-to writing exercise.
After writing, I close my journal and revisit my writing 1-2 days later. You will not remember most of what you wrote down during this journaling session, so what you read back to yourself will be profound and eye-opening. If you want quick mindset changes or to get out of a creative rut, automatic journaling will help you with that quickly.
Let me know if you try any of these, and I will be back with more soon!

Love that you are collaborating with Empress Peach for this ✨
